Waiting for the Libertine show to begin.

On Tuesday night, a coworker of mine decided to skip the Libertine
Spring/Summer 2015 show and head straight home after work. So guess who got to play impromptu guest at New York Fashion Week? 🙂

Thankfully, I already had a blingy necklace on and a go-everywhere gray sweater over dressy black leggings that day. The fluffy knit cape that I keep at my desk as a cozy cover-up when the AC is blaring (or when the heat isn’t on) at work oddly/delightfully makes any outfit look extra fashion-y. All I needed were heels—check, we all keep shoes in our drawers at the office—and, of course, makeup! (As a leftover habit from my beauty editor days, I also keep a stash of cosmetics in my drawer. More on hair and makeup in my next post!)

Now, if you’d like to see the actual clothes from the collection, check out Vogue UK’s coverage here. Sorry, guys—my fashion reporting skills are a bit rusty, I’d forgotten that these things are so quick and fleeting, I spent way too much time composing a tweet that by the time I looked up, the show was almost over! I was also too busy taking in the ambience—it’s been ages since my last Fashion Week attendance—that I barely noticed the clothes. And to simply say that they were “bright and sparkly” wouldn’t do the designer any justice.

Here are snaps I did manage to take around Lincoln Center that evening. (Heads up, some are blurry!)

It looks like my phone camera did a fantastic job of capturing the audience (and not the model/clothes).

Can’t go wrong with fuchsia.

And here’s the show’s final walk:
