Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural, $5; Butter Lipstick in Snow Cap, $6; and Retractable Lip Liner in Nude, $4.50, all by NYX Cosmetics.

As promised, here are the nude lippies I mentioned in my previous post on no-makeup makeup! The lipstick, lipliner, and lipgloss are all from NYX—the popular drugstore beauty brand that offers unbeatable value, and, if scent or flavored lippies aren’t a big deal for you, quality that is on-point for the amount you’re shelling out for.

Back story: I’d written about NYX a few years ago when I still wrote the “Beauty in the Big Apple” for the Philippine Daily Inquirer (a column that ran for three years and was later renamed “Beauty Rx”). At the time, it was actually someone who worked for Maybelline that put NYX on my radar, but it was only recently that I’d gone to CVS, Ricky’s, and Ulta to scope and shop items from the brand. And now, I have quite the collection.

Now, giving credit where credit is due: One evening on our way to an event, I noticed my coworker Andrea from product development wearing the most perfect nude shade on her lips. It turned out to be NYX Butter Lipstick in Snowcap (above) and Butter Gloss in Crème Brûlée (not pictured), the former, I finally found at an Ulta out of town!

I’ve also picked up the Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural and Retractable Lip Liner in Nude during the last couple of weeks.

This is me playing with nude lips.
