Ah...career crossroads, while they can be stressful, are actually a good thing. You'll be surprised at what comes out of the confusion. I decided to take a year off from NYC, at first out of exasperation, but down the line, all this time off is starting to make perfect sense. Plus, it's opened so many new doors; I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think this is my favorite post in your Cosmo series Ms Mariel, and very fittingly so :)

I remembering having lots of childhood dreams. My very first childhood dream was to be a ballerina, but learned early on that I could never dance gracefully like them. Next I dreamt to be a painter, but realized I cannot paint, much less draw to save my life. I also dreamt to be a cashier because I thought all the money they put in the tills are already theirs to spend :D I remember dreaming to be a teacher, a scientist, an MTV VJ, a DJ, an astronaut, an entrepreneur, and the president of the Philippines. I was in 2nd year high school when I realized and knew in my heart that my ultimate dream is to be a writer. :)

Hi Mariel :) Another lovely post this is! :) I'm so glad you're still writing for Cosmo even if you're already in NYC. I've always loved your writing, it's very simple to understand and leaves me smiling all the time. I remember clipping your articles because I read them again and again.

16th of 16 posts? I really hope there's more to come :) Altough I've subscribed to your blog already, then I'm sure I won't miss anything.
